What is Link Exchange?Good Or Crap

sample of good link exchange blogIf you are a blogger, webmaster who try to optimizing your blog or website for the search engines;SEO, then you have probably heard of a thing called "Link Exchange", you also might hear things like "Get you site ranking #1 spot on Google in just xx days" These are the promises that many SEO companies claim (some dare to give money back guarantee)to get you to the top of the search results.

You know what? That's fine, you pay them and they do all the work for you .But how about if they tell you how good and important link exchange is?They will always try to sell you some kind of link exchange tools/softwares.Yeah they might be right but you just need to know the pros and cons of link exchange .

So,what is link exchange? Why blogger rushing for link exchange? Can link exchange really help in ranking? And how Google treat Link exchange?

Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth, as I and many other blogs or website owners have already found out.

"Link Exchange" is supposed to help you achieve a higher ranking in the search engines by adding your site link and description to other websites. The bad news is that although a link exchange system is very easy to setup, the results are often completely overstated and don't really make much of difference at all.

Like many website owners, who think every day and night to rank high in the search engines, I too joined the crowd for a few years, but then I realized that it was just a joke.

The truth is Link exchange only works in a very rare cases, in order to help you understand the problems with this whole nonsense called "Link Exchange", let me share some pointers with you and you can verify the information for yourself.

Why do SEO companies push link exchange as part of a SEO strategy?
Money ! It simply because it makes them money!Search engines like Google make it a point to say that Link schemes is not good.

The problem is that the SEO companies have figured out that they can reword that thinking and make some easy money in the process.  There are a ton of SEO companies, SEO software company/devolopers,and link trader groups, that are more than happy to take your hard earned money and pretend to offer you a "successful SEO strategy" in return. You got to beware of those promises.

Why is directory link exchange a waste of time and money?
I hate PHP directory .I mean i will not stop at those link directory farm that vertually has no contents but link, link link...What value does this site bring to their visitors?

If i am one of those automatic link exchange directory site.If you and I exchange links, I will add your link to the hundreds of others that I already have and I promise you, the search engines couldn't care less.

The truth is You have exchanged links with hundreds of those directory websites, but simple links just don't work. Why? It doesn't matter how many websites you exchange links with, until you get linkback from the site related to your topic,1000 links just won't make a damn difference.

When does link exchange work?
I am not saying Link exchange is not gonna work.It will work only if you have already optimized your website WITH USEFUL CONTENTS and even then it will not make much of a difference to you ranking, unless you know who to link with.

Some of my blogs gets requests on a daily basis and I don't even bother any more.  The key is the site i linking to is legimate and relevent to my blog at the same time benifit to my visitors.I am not just exchange link for the search engines anymore!

Are there any good link exchanges that you should consider?
Yes, relevant ones!!

How Relevant is that?
I used to exchange links with just about anyone,I mean ANY website but then I learned that this was truly a waste of time.Your PR can br PR3 this month but PR 0 on next updated. You don't have any idea what when wrong.

If I sell mobile phone online and exchange links with a flower website, what you think SE thinks?do you think the search engines are going to care?

Obviously, you only need to exchange links with websites that are similar to yours, but then you worry, would it be helping out your competition?so there goes that theory. My suggestion would be that you exchange links with websites that are related to you, but are not direct competitors.

If plain old link exchanges don't work, then what does?
Write useful contents. This is one of the rare instances where even a very badly designed website can rank in the top of the search results. If you can get other websites to mention your site in a more prominent position and add your website link to a place like a homepage, that will be much more useful and the search engines will give it much more weight.

I personally think you would be much better off with something more in depth than just a simple link exchange.you can have 3 ways ,4 way link exchange instead but like i said earlier, just relevant link that benefit to your visitors only.

Lastly,a good and the reputation of a website is not only dependent on what the website says about itself(contents), but what other say about it(links pointed to the website).if you like this post and would like to exchange link with me.Write to me.;) And BTW check out My Requirements of quality Link.
